U.S. Visitors Enjoy Clore Center's Ein Hayam Neighborhood Hospitality
Dozens of visitors from the U.S. visited the Ein Hayam neighborhood in November and December as guests of our Clore Center for Shared Existence. In addition to touring the Ein Hayam neighborhood, Community Garden, and scenic and historic Ein Yayam Trail, the visitors were welcomed in homes of Ein Hayam residents where they enjoyed friendly conversation and authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

December Holidays Celebrated in the Spirit of Shared Existence
Bilingual Story Hour at the Clore Center
Children and parents from western Haifa neighborhoods gathered in the Clore Center in December for a bilingual story hour. A Jewish and an Arab actor told and enacted the story of "The Lion Who Loved Stories" in Hebrew and in Arabic to 48 children and their parents. Following the story the children created lion drawings and parents chatted and got to know each other. The program ended in proper holiday spirit with Hanukah and Christmas songs, dancing, candle lighting, and a visit from Santa Claus.

Joint Festivities for Sauwa Center and Leo Baeck Preschool Children
In December 45 Arab and Jewish preschool children from the Sauwa Center for Arab Families and children from Leo Baeck's early childhood education program, and their parents, were treated to a bilingual play, "A Holiday Salad," that combines the themes of healthy eating and accepting others by introducing various vegetables and their nutritional benefits. After the play the children created Hanukah and Christmas arts and crafts, sang holiday songs, and were given gifts by Santa Claus. This meeting is one of several to be held during the year jointly with Arab and Jewish preschool children to educate from an early age towards tolerance, equality, pluralism, and accepting others.
